Dedicated to the memory of Rosie Rechter

This site is a tribute to Rosie Rechter. She is much loved by all her family and friends and will always be remembered.

A celebration of Rosie Rechter's life

We are holding a funeral service at Crown Lodge, near Wye, Ashford on Sunday 2nd April (her birthday) at 12pm to celebrate Rosie's beautiful life. Refreshments will be served there afterwards so that we can be together to remember her and share stories and memories.

So glad to have known Rosie and to have joined her on many campaigns, her energy and enthusiasm were remarkable!

So upset to hear of Rosies's passing on. She was a great environmental campaigner and arranged such wonderful huge meetings, often with celebritiies attending. I shall never forget her campaign to BAN THE PLASTIC BAG in Deal and in general. This campaign was so successful, with their use now greatly reduced, thus saving so much wildlife from suffering. Members of East Kent Climate Action were very sorry to learn that the indefatigable Rosie is no longer with us. We are aware that Rosie was one of the most energetic and enthusiastic founder members of Transition Town Deal/ Deal with it, espousing many of the values that EKCA still promotes. Although Rosie didn’t attend our meetings, she followed our progress and was unstinting in her support. When any noble cause was being promoted, Rosie was there! Deal has lost a passionate campaigner who cared so much about humanity and a fair share for all. We will continue to carry the torch.
